Eligibility for Executive MBA



Executive MBA, a management programme which takes you ahead from your colleagues working in your own industry doesn’t ask for much sacrifice. In any executive programme, all you need is an experience of more than 3-4 years in an organisation. Though, you need to clear different exams or your admission chances are evaluated on the basis of some common and reputed entrance tests like GMAT. However, if you aspire to join IIM for an executive programme, you need to be at least 27 years old. It is understood that Executive MBA are meant for those professionals who have been working in the industry for 4 years or more. So, career profile of a candidate throughout his 4 years of industry exposure counts at the time of admission.

Here are few criteria which you need to clear for certain institutes in order to become eligible for an executive programme:

  • Eligibility for Executive MBA IIM-Ahmadabad: One need to be 27 years old at least and should have more than 5 years of experience in any industry. Valid score of GMAT will be evaluated.
  • IIM-Bangalore: Considered better for professionals who have a lot to show in their CVs instead of their entrance exam score. Along with the evaluation of CV, candidates are asked to go through personal interviews where they are asked question related to their experience. So, if you have a good profile in your hand, chances of being selected at IIM- Bangalore are better.
  • ISB-Hyderabad: Graduation is listed as the basic requirement at this institute where experience holders are preferred over candidates who does not have any kind of experience. You also need to go through a personal interview there.
  • Symbiosis Institute of Management: An institute which offers an executive programme of 2 and a half years only asks for good experience. You just need to clear their written and personal interview.

Be it any institute, it is understood that if you hold a good experience, you are surely going to get admitted in a good B-School.
